When Kakashi finds a thoroughly beaten kuniochi not far from Konoha, it turns out that she has two pasts with the hidden village - one fresh, raw and bitter with the bloody tears of others and another, far older one, long forgotten by the one who owns it. From her own mouth, she'll tell you she has nothing to repent for, but ask any villager of Konohagakure (and countless other villages), they'll tell you the exact opposite is true: that she's a hardened, twisted criminal who needs to pay for her crimes. Even for a genius, able to see multiple scenarios and angles, it's still not clear where the truth begins and ends... And Tsunade's suggestion to think of it in terms of: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," hardly helps. How is he supposed to accept someone who represents everything that he's learned to hate?
