Earth is dying. Resources are running out and already more than half of the planet is uninhabitable. Not to mention the fact that humans are near extinction.

But there is hope for the human race. On the first day of each year, the Leaders of Earth (LOE) put together a list of people turning eighteen and pick out one hundred names at random. Each of these names is paired with another to form a Pair which will then be sent out into the universe to search for a new home for the humans.

Zach and Charlotte are one such Pair. Trained almost from birth for a destiny like this, both are well prepared for the journey ahead. But while Charlotte can't wait to escape Earth, Zach isn't so sure. The further the Pair travel from Earth, the closer he grows to jeopardising their mission.
