maim /mām/ verb past tense: maimed; past participle: maimed wound or injure (someone) so that part of the body is permanently damaged. In the 1800's there weren’t many murders. Mostly they were accidental but for the Johnson family it wasn't much luck. They were murdered gruesomely. The only child who was sixteen was maimed with deep cuts up to his ears from his lips. His tongue was cut out as well. Will they ever get justice? A young girl has moved into the old Johnson house and they are the first people in over a hundred years. She finds out what happened to the family and wants to help them, no matter the consequences.
