All earthly creatures are destined to love (and to be loved by) a single individual - their soulmate. They say that, upon birth, the Gods celebrate the creation of new-life with the gift of love; however, even the Gods make mistakes. Though quite rare, it is possible to find somebody who is mateless, an anomaly known as a lone soul.

Lyra Thorup has never experienced love - not even from her mother. Orphaned at birth, Lyra was lost in the shuffles of society. It was purely coincidence that she was born just as the world shifted from human control to supernatural control. Humans now must obey territorial alphas or vampiric overlords.

But Lyra is not just some average human, she is a witch, although fairly untrained, Lyra remains a force to be reckoned with. Living in the outskirts of Eclipse territory, she must always be ready for visits from boarder patrol, rogues, and any other passerby.
