Slavery, oppression, and racial superiority dominate Vryland, a country in the midst of an industrial revolution. The nobles rule with absolute power whilst the masses toil in squalor and misery. All rebellions against the nobles have failed. Now, hope rests on two unlikely heroes: Lis and Andre. They come from different backgrounds and are haunted by different pasts. And yet, their paths grow intertwined as a new rebellion spreads across the lands, one headed by a revolutionary with grand visions of the future. Lis and Andre must learn to work together and master the powers of vernbinding to aid the rebellion and bring about a brighter future.

(If you haven't read the first book, stop here! Don't spoil yourself, the first book is also on my profile) The death of a friend can break a person, or reshape them. It could be the straw that broke the camel's back, or a motivator, a push in the right direction. Aiden isn't sure where he falls. All he knows is the guilt and the desire for vengeance. Maybe things could've been different if he hadn't made such a disastrous mistake. But then an opportunity arises for Aiden to learn more about his fallen comrade, to get to know him even beyond the grave. And like death, everything that follows could make or break the rebellion. Note: This story contains a subplot featuring a romance between two boys. It's presented as normal. If you have a problem with the lgbt+ community, then this isn't the book - or authour - for you. I'm a member of the community myself. Happy pride month! Spread love, not hate. <3
