This is my account of my most recent hospitalization. Most people think that mental rehabilitation facilities are just vacation spots. Well, they are dead wrong. Psychiatric hospitals are very tense environments, and I decided that I'd like to share my full experience with everyone. It was one of my worst stays, and I think sharing my experience will help others to understand what people who struggle with mental illness go through. I will change names for privacy, but everything else you read in this story is true. I hope you enjoy!

I've been very depressed and heartbroken so, what better than to create a story out of it? "This is my life" details a protagonist going through her teenage years up until the age of 21. Through love, friendship, grief, and heartbreak, you will get to witness what it's like being a young black girl trying to conquer the world. I hope anyone going through either heartbreak, grief, insecurities, mental health declines are able to read this and know that they're not alone! Life can be so ugly at times, but I promise things always get better. Not your typical romance or teen fiction book! Sometimes, I'm not always sure what to do. I feel like I'm always wrong, like I'm never good enough. I'm invisible and it's as if I don't exist.
