My name is Alaki Bea Miller-or known in the ground above: Alaki Bea X. That is what us, the inferior, are referred to: X. In this world, I am victim to the laws and legal system of segregation by race where it is illegal to bear more than one blood in your veins. In this world, I am not considered human. I am not considered a person. I am a thing, an abomination that threatens the fragile system. His name is Efrem Mustafin, leader of one of the five Rings, Master of his race, and the man who saved my life. Legally, he owns me. You see, in order to save me, he had to take me as property. And in exchange for my protection, we keep up a facade. One where I pretend to submit to him before the eyes that watch us, and he keeps me safe. Master Efrem Mustafin, he is. Subject Alaki Bea X, I am. Or at least, I was. I belong to him. My name is Alaki Bea Mustafin, and in this world, I Am Mustafin.

In a world of masks and shadows, can she spark a revolution before it's too late? Blurb { The kiss was fierce, possessive, his mouth claiming hers in a way that was wholly different from the fabricated memory she'd described. Her hands freed, she found herself pulling him closer, their breaths mingling. His hand slid down her back, pulling her against him. When they finally broke apart, they were both breathing heavily, their faces close as they took in each other's flushed expressions. Alaric looked into her eyes, an amused smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "So," he murmured, his voice a low rumble, "was Caelon as good as me?" } Blurb 2 { "Your Highness," Cedric whispered, disbelief threading his tone, "With all due respect, do you really think it's wise to look at her like that with those lovey-dovey eyes, knowing she just insulted you?" }
