"King Thranduil's voice rung out again, filling the area, 'And Legolas? Do not fail, she could be the tipping of the balance that Middle-earth needs.'" - Lumornel has always been a quiet girl, content with her nose stuck in a book or writing in her journal. She'd rather sit in a tree and read than leave the forests of her home. But she then learns that not all is as it seems. An unexpected quest is thrust upon her. Her shyness must be swept aside and she must stand strong as the War of the Rings rages on. And what happens when Lumornel stops an Uruk-Hai from shooting Boromir on Amon Hen and the Ring is taken from Frodo? In these times of troubles, she finds unexpected love in a certain woodland prince. She faces terrifying enemies, unexpected consequences, and surprising revelations, such as her part in an ancient prophecy. And one constant remains; the sorrow she feels for Arda. Most importantly, she finds herself in the middle of it all because of one thing: she bears a power that no one has been known to have. Because of this power, she is forced into the Fellowship of the Ring: the tenth member. - "This story is not your average Lord of the Rings fanfiction where some girl enters the fellowship as the tenth walker and inherits some strange ability, it is much more than that. It is a story of love and compassion, the battle against the mind's inner demons, and the weariness and desire for a better world that drives the soul." - • Completed 7/31/18 • - Awards won: •Overall Winner and •Best Female Character of the 'Precious Awards' hosted by @Meisha13578. •Second Place in 'The Battle of Helm's Deep' hosted by @Middle_Earth_Awards Highest Rankings: •1 in lotrfanfiction •1 in LotR •1 in middle-earth •1 in legolasgreenleaf •2 in Tolkien •1 in original character • 1 in lotrau •1 in projectclean • 2 in Legolasfanfiction - *Contains a chapter written by nonother than Monste

AFTER the Battle of Five Armies, an elf prince journeys to the north of Middle Earth in search of the mysterious Strider. But to also escape the grief of a 'love unspoken' as well as the oppressive regime of his father, King Thranduil. There among the Dúnedain, Legolas finds friendship, adventure, a sense of humor and a female ranger who is not quite what she seems. Is he fated to forever love another unrequited? And what of the broken relationship with his father, will the prince's choices drive a deeper wedge between them? A classic love story, filled with adventure and intrigue, but ALSO a journey into the unwritten years of the beginning of an epic friendship with Aragorn; all set prior to 'The Lord of the Rings'. *Feb 2018: 2nd in The Middle Earth Awards* *June 2018: 2nd in Arkenstone (The Hobbit) category, The Tolkien Awards* *July 2018: Official Featured Wattpad Fanfiction* *Jan 2019: #3 in Romance Hotlist (181k stories) -0-0-0-0-0- I may have nicknamed this story 'Pride and Prejudice for Elves', our silver-haired princeling has several centuries of repression he needs to work through, as well lighten up - before he can become the elf that we know and love in LOTR! The story is COMPLETE! All votes and comments greatly appreciated. I'd be absolutely thrilled to have you join me on this journey of self-discovery in Middle Earth. The best writing in this story belongs to @GreenScholarTales, who kindly allowed me to weave my romance into her story, 'Starting Anew.' Please go and see her other works and her original series on Wattpad, The Book of Terrus. The beautiful painting on the cover was kindly loaned by the highly talented Irishmellow, see her awesome work at https://irishmellow.deviantart.com/ Copyright: Tolkien owns all the familiar characters, Jackson & Co. own Tauriel and the starting premise, Green Scholar owns several significant events and almost all of the rangers ... but one, Wren, she is all mine!
Shadow of Mirkwood by elven-archer
34 parts Complete
In the heart of the cursed Mirkwood Forest, Legolas, the prince of the woodland realm, is haunted by an inexplicable feeling of being watched. Unbeknownst to him, his every move is shadowed by a female elf (I am not going to reveal the name), the enigmatic and fiercely skilled general of the Mirkwood army, who has vowed to protect her prince and her king - Thranduil. Legolas, however, remains unaware of her presence. Every midnight, she cloaks herself in secrecy and ventures out to meet him, masking her identity. Under the cover of darkness, she observes him carefully. Amidst the looming threats of darkness creeping into Mirkwood, the unlikely bond between Legolas and the general becomes both a source of strength and vulnerability. When news of the One Ring's existence and its devastating power reaches the woodland realm, Legolas, along with a fellowship of brave companions, embarks on a perilous quest to destroy the Ring and save Middle-earth from the clutches of darkness. In a tale of hidden identities, midnight meetings, and unspoken emotions, "Shadows of Mirkwood" explores the profound connection between two souls destined to protect their realm and, in the process, find solace in each other's arms. As they face the ultimate quest to destroy the Ring, their love becomes a beacon of hope in the face of overwhelming darkness. Will their love withstand the challenges of secrecy, duty, and the temptation of the Ring, or will the shadows that brought them together also tear them apart?

Legolas is a child of the deep, arcane forest. With the face of a Sinda and the heart of a Silvan, he struggles with the mysteries of his illegitimate past as he strives to fulfil his dream; to become a captain in the king's militia. Son of a Silvan mother he never knew, and an unknown Sindarin father, he finds the family he never had in his childhood friends and fellow warriors. But everything will change one fateful day, when a lieutenant will come to realise who The Silvan really is, a discovery that will lead to the unravelling of the mystery of his own past, one that will forever change the course of history. This is his journey from ignorance to understanding, from fantasy to reality and eventually, to Elven warrior-hood and his own, surprising destiny. ............................................................................................................................................... Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful, but my oh my did this one make me weep like nothing I have ever experienced. Thank you Nimruzir, I am so, so happy I found this tale, it was magnificent. GB12390 ............................................................................................................................................... I had expected a stunning final chapter but you surpassed my expectations! It was the most moving chapter. I had tears in my eyes for most of it and even more so when I read the end notes. It has been a privilege to read this work and review it. Legolas journey into the forest and what he found there is a spectacular culmination of your story. You wrote it so tenderly, so beautifully...I will miss reading the Silvan, but I know I can come back and read it again whenever I miss it too much! Eadrid was the daughter of Kings, and a Captain among men. Though she remained fierce, she was determined to be the leader that desired to serve her people and to help them, not stand over them. As sickness spread throughout the lands of Rohan, she was banished by order of the King, and was forced to start a new life in Middle Earth. After years of losing the respect for herself she once had as Captain of the Rohirrim, she found herself amongst a fellowship with a very long journey ahead of them. Until her future was to be revealed to her, she told herself that she deserved nothing good that came her way. But as her destiny was paved in front of her, she was forced to become the once great leader she had been, and fulfill her duty to the free men of Middle Earth.
