Imagine this: I was going to go on my first date with a boy. This boy is also the cutest boy in school, but also he is the strangest. Ok so my friend call me the night before the date and says she saw him at walmart. She says that he was next to the mirror isle. But when she looked in the mirrors he wasn't there. She keeps telling me all these dumb lies about him. Well I just laugh and say she is jealous. I am one of those girls who would never has never believed in paranormal stuff. But my best friend Alice on the other hand does. She says she can tell who is paranormal and who is human. People are thinking she is crazy. I even thought she was crazy until I found out her most recent story was true.

As I walk into the school, he spots me and immediately starts talking to me. I brush past him, ignoring him, but today is definitely not my lucky day... He grabs my arm firmly, stopping me, and turns me to face him. The pain on my face contorts his expression. "What's wrong, Emma? Lost your voice, lizard?" I don't look at him; my head is hung low once again. "When I'm talking, you need to look at me!" he shouts, lifting my chin so I have to meet his gaze. I look at him, but it's not with innocence; it's with anger. "Oh, look, Emma's angry, everyone!" he mocks. "Just leave me alone," I say, meeting his eyes as I pull my arm free from his grip and walk away. He stares at me, shocked, as do all the kids around us, not expecting what I just did.
