Melaina is a slave in the Greek city-state of Corinth, 800 BC. But she is no ordinary slave. She is a musical prodigy of her time, blessed with an incredible aptitude for musical instruments and a voice that haunts all who hear it. But her talent doesn't change her status. In Ancient Greece, slaves are not human beings. They are property, seen as little more than the common mule.

Melaina is accustomed to being treated like an animal, and she has resigned to her mundane existence. Until she meets a cryptic prince that awakens all the human desires she has tried so long to suppress. She suspects of sinister forces lurking in his past, but she can't bring herself to leave him. He is the first person, aside from her mother, to make her feel human.

As their mutual desire brings them closer, the pressures of their rigid society and his troubled past push back with equal force, keeping them apart. Will they find a way to overcome them? You'll have to read to find out!

*Disregard all your pre-conceived notions of slavery. Slavery in Ancient Greece was NOT based on race. Melaina is black simply bc I like having POC as my main characters :-)*

In the kingdom of Aeziris, a rebellion is rising, but its reins are not in the hands of its citizens. With a fine string entwining her heart with that of its chieftain, Esméralda must walk a knife-edge while navigating her way through a palace of masks and smiles that stab, and maybe just not lose her all in the process. •°• Book #1 in 'of aether' duology. Esméralda Alby has been hammered two things her whole life. One, she is beneath her step-sister; two, to work like a machine. Despite being the first-born daughter of a wealthy merchant, she is never introduced as such, let alone be treated with its honor. After her mother's death, the word love, for her, resonated with the hollow of meaninglessness until she met him, a charismatic man with a persistent aura of mystery. Eirik, the blossom to her flower, the blue to her sky - he who brought spring to her wilting life. He isn't a king as his name suggested, but to her, he had become hers. But when her father's orchards get infected, drastically dwindling their income, Esméralda is forced to leave to the palace to work as a handmaiden for a lady of The Queen's Trial, an event hosted to choose a suitable wife for the Crown Prince of Aeziris. It was supposed to be a job freeing her from the chains of the past, but how long could she stay sane when Eirik stands in front of her as the only heir to the throne of Aeziris, as Crown Prince Aedric Emsworth? There might just be more to the rebellion than what met the eye.

Alexandria "Alex" Moldovan fell asleep at a work retreat and woke up in the same place, just not in the right time. The situation improves when she's inadvertently rescued by a Roman Centurion, and as long as she can keep her wits - and his affections - she might just survive this. But trading one slave class for another doesn't help with the trouble that always seems to find her... Ixillius Traversi had been leading his century on a routine razing, but the slave he found imprisoned, injured and starved in the village is anything but typical. That she was alive seemed barely possible, and then she'd saved his life... and she wasn't afraid of him. He claimed the woman who called herself Alex as his slave, be it a curse or a blessing, but he still needs to know one thing: who is she? The Centurion's Woman is set in Germania Inferior circa 5 AD, and Maiden discovers that a two thousand year culture shock may be the easiest problem to overcome, but it won't be the last... Trigger Warnings: beatings / abuse (people and animals), starvation, battle, blood, sex Please note: This story's historical elements are based on the research I did as a writer; I'm not a historian.
