Where there are heights of the heavens, there are depths of the earth. While Semira and her beloved son, Atlas, are captivated by the infinity that lay just beyond their reach, the remaining members of the family seem to repel their positively charged counterparts. They are polar opposites; they are attracted to the earth and logicality. Tyrus, Semira's mate, and Torr- their older son- have devoted their existence to understanding the world around them, and sponsoring the survival of both themselves and the less capable members of their rather small pack.

As air grows colder, the family continues to drift away from each other. The gravitational pull of the moon had captured Atlas and Semira like the waves of the ocean, and the earth held Torr and Tyrus tightly in its outstretched fingertips. Winter was approaching, and quickly. The sky was threatening to send forth many feet of snow at any given moment, which would make survival much more difficult, especially for young Atlas. Semira curls tightly around her beloved son as the air bites at their skin. She can only hope that her little star child will not ascend to his original home amongst the constellations before his time had come.

But as a series of tragedies unfold, the family is left as broken as the world beneath their paws. As the seasons change, the wolves must learn to coexist before it is too late.

They swung open the cage door, cattle prods at full power, humming with electricity. The man lazily lifted his hands in surrender. "Now, now." He said softly. His voice was like velvet. "No need. I'll do as you please." The man in the cage said, his eyes straying to her. "You know what it is we want beastling." The man with the pale eyes said. The caged man shot him a glance, something dancing just below the surface of his calm, relaxed demeanor. The air in the room was electric. The man locked eyes with her, sending a shiver through her whole body. She felt like a rabbit in the jaws of a wolf- struggling, but doomed. Then, his eyes still on hers, he began to change. --- When Theophania Pennrose arrives in Ilaross, a tiny town tucked away in the recesses of the Alaskan wilderness, she is under the impression that she's simply there to visit her dear younger brother Dimetreaus. When the warehouse disappeared behind the trees, he slowed down a little. The snow quickly coated the ground, and he could only hear the crunching of snow as he walked. He walked and walked, and soon his hoodie provided little protection, as cold seeped through the fabric and froze his skin. He started to shiver, and he rubbed his hands over his arms to try to and warm himself. As he continued to walk, he didn't feel like himself, he felt like someone else was willing his legs to continue moving. His lips turned blue and he tried to curl his toes, but they wouldn't budge, and even though he was still walking, it didn't look the tiniest bit graceful, as he stumbled with each step forward. He stopped shivering, and he didn't even notice he stopped walking, as he looked up into the sky again. His eyes felt droopy, and his eyelashes fluttered as snowflakes threatened to land in his eye. He slowly teetered on the spot, then came crashing down onto the snow. He didn't even flinch at the impact, more like he couldn't. He didn't bother to move, and continued to stare up into the sky. His eyes threatened to close, but he tried to keep them open. Soon, the beautiful sight of the snow was robbed from him and replaced with darkness, as his eyes finally closed. Everything was silent for a little while, before being disturbed with more footsteps.
