Có lẽ không cần nói nhiều về cuốn sách này, bởi cái tên của nó đã quá nổi tiếng với bạn đọc Việt Nam. Một tác phẩm lãng mạn khó quên dành cho bạn trẻ. Tôi cứ ngỡ chỉ có bản in của thời Liên Xô, nhưng khi tìm hình ảnh bìa thì phát hiện có rất nhiều bản in tiếng Việt khác nhau; như vậy rõ ràng cuốn sách vẫn luôn hấp dẫn bạn đọc qua dòng thời gian.

Câu chuyện một cô bé - cô gái lớn lên ở một làng quê ven biển, với mơ ước sẽ có một chàng trai xứng đáng đến đón mình trên một chiếc thuyền với những cánh buồm đỏ thắm, đã đem đến cho con người sự hy vọng và niềm tin vào những điều ta mơ ước, dù nghe có vẻ viễn vông. Mơ ước - điều mà con người luôn giữ được trong mọi hoàn cảnh.

Đây là một cuốn sách giản dị, không mang nặng những triết lý lớn lao. Những bạn trẻ muốn tìm một phút lặng thấm đẫm lãng mạn, hãy đọc Cánh buồm đỏ thắm. Truyện cũng đã được dựng thành phim với nhiều người hâm mộ.
