Keith lives in a world where love is judged by a simple locket that hangs around humanities neck. Inside contains the picture of their soulmate but the catch is that it only opens when you have a certain interaction with the other person that creates a spark between the two of you. He goes by people everyday as he glances down at the locket expectantly only to find himself disappointed to see it still ticking away, that is until he decided to go to a group party.
Now doomed to be soulmates with his enemy, Keith has to find the best in what seems like darkness as he and Lance buttheads in frustration and a new obstacle arises for the pair and tests their relationship as Keith investigates an ominous shadow over his town that threatens his entire life and his friend's.

As such, the discourse has discouraged me from liking Shallura, even though part of me doesn't believe Allura is a teen since she looks and acts older than Keith, Lance, and Hunk (who are 16/17). A klance miniseries in which Keith accidentally comes out to Allura and spends the next few weeks in a living hell as Allura tries to get him to admit his crush for Lance. On top of that, his attempts to tell Lance how he feels are going absolutely nowhere because Lance is too damn clueless to realize what he's trying to say. The paladins of the other lions stopped paying attention to him until he went missing one day. Keith, the paladin of the red lion, has noticed how off Lance has been, but when he tried to question it, Lance went missing. None of the other paladins noticed, and now he was the only one who could save lance. Keith was in and out of the hospital for all of his life. He often snuck out of his room to wander the halls in an attempt to stifle his boredom. When he was ten years old, he found a boy in a coma-and he happened to be around his age. He would often talk to him about his day and bring him toys. But one day, the boy was gone without a trace. Lance was nine years old when he was in a major car accident. His injuries were extensive and he was put into a medically-induced coma. When he woke up, he recovered fully and returned home.
