"What do you mean? Why do you speak the way you do?" He asked, curiosity and confusion evident on his face.
"Because no matter how much you want your life to change. It never does. Everything stays the same. You still have the same problems but with a different living condition. your either rich and unhappy or poor and unhappy. No matter if your pretty as can be or uglier than the grossest sea, your still unhappy. Your life could be handed to you on a silver platter and you'd still be unhappy. Why? Because that's life."

Everyone dreams to be heard, right? We all want to be heard-our unsaid thoughts and feelings. Being scared to judge is crucial in this cruel world. Too scared to share and open up, it will end up using a pen and paper. Through writing, we can directly tell what we feel and what we want. We are free to express our own feelings and emotions without having any thoughts of being judged. Been there, these poems say a lot of what I've felt throughout the years dealing with different emotions in different situations. It does get better.
People say it will get better. But to be fair, most of them never were in your place. They say you will get happy again, but how can they know? I've struggled with trauma, mental illnesses, and self harm for many years. These are (mostly) poems - about me and my journey of getting better. ! As this is about self harm and other previously mentioned topics, it might be triggering. I don't glorify it in any way, though. I'm also not a native English speaker. If you find any mistakes, please tell me so I can improve.
