A Vietnam veteran finds that 43 years after the war, it's getting harder and harder to control his thoughts, his actions. His memory scarred by the horrible events that occurred in that jungle, what seemed like a century ago. His brain puts his conscience on autopilot, and carries him off to his own personal hell. The stress is getting to him more and more in his older state, like he's dying more and more every time he flashes back to that dense forest, and is feeding the memory that kills him with his decaying state. He's afraid to sleep, afraid of being alone, for fear that it will consume him completely. It sometimes feels that all the possible happiness has left him, that he can no longer create good memories, only amplify the terrifying ones.

Overview 🦘My story will take you through my Army experiences including the dreadful inhumane mess that was the Vietnam War. Vietnam was mostly unknown to Australia before the war and whilst it is now a popular tourist destination, little is known about the war and our involvement in it. My involvement concluded with severe PTSD and a shocking journey into memory loss and a foray into the outback of Australia. Following the Vietnam disaster and my struggle with mental stress, my story will take you through my role as a recruit Instructor during national service years at the training battalion near Wagga NSW. Then a transfer to the Military Police which involved mainly training roles with the Corps and in a now forgotten loan of Australian Military Police to the British Army during the height of the troubles involving the Irish Republican Army and the Cold War security of what was West Germany whilst attached tithe British Army of the Rhine. My 20 years in the regular Army concluded as a Warrant Officer Class One. I followed on for 2 years as a training Warrant Officer in the Citizen Military Forces. Then it's onwards to read about my scary upbringing in the following 'Journey to war' story which relates my upbringing by a hateful mother culminating in an amazing journey to an extremely remote cattle station as a 12 year old. That experience presented a hard life, a huge learning curve and included a saga which now seems surreal, was this me or a movie I once saw. As is said, 'wait there's more' including the S.A public service, a dreadful shock to the system after I sneaked in as a training officer. As well, a period as a training consultant and ten years in mining management. Then life struck hard as you will understand if you decide to read on. So ! this is me, surviving Polio, being booted out of home and stranded in a lonely city far from home, later lost in the wilderness of the great outback, the trauma and legacy of personal loss.

" I lunge forward at him hitting his groin with my knee then right between the eyes. As soon as I do, he crashes to the ground, out cold. I go for more, but a pair of arms snatch my waist lifting me up. I kick my legs and flail my arms to get closer but he is too strong. "Let go of me!" I demand. "Shut up." A low strong voice commands."Is he okay?" "He is fine." I grunt. Then the young adult wakes up, then scurries back away from me. "Sorry ma'- miss... " he says, making me angry again. I give him a cold stare. "I'm sorry." He repeats, standing to his feet. "Put. Me. Down." I demand again. With a huff he puts me down. I step forward with full intentions to punch him again but the man behind me takes my arm, holding me back. I jerk forward to get off his grip but he takes my other arm tightly. "Alright! I'm done! I'm done!" I huff in defeat. " This story follows Astrid, a 26 year old female who ran away from home 10 years ago. The only reason she has come back was to get away from the hole she dug her self into. She is running away from her problems again. Life before she ran away wasn't as nice as the public saw it- the sherif's family, happy, and loving. Behind the doors it was orders being barked left and right with no warning or break. Not wanted to deal with this anymore, Astrid ran. On her voyage out, she ran into some trouble that seemed all fine until it wasn't. She comes back home and everything is all fine and dandy until, "Unknown: You thought you could hide forever? I found you, and I can find your friend, Nicole. If you want her safe, you'll be at the ring in an hour." Since Astrid's leave, the town suddenly had a motorcycle gang that hangs around, not realling doing anything in particular, but the sherif doesn't trust them much. Damon being the head of the gang, keeps everything they do quiet. When these two meet up there is obious tention and immediate hatred. ***EDITING TWs: Controling dad, violence, abuse

Born into an organization more secret than HYDRA or the Red Room with the goal of peace he was trained since he could walk. A photographic memory really helps when you're trained to fight with every style and speak every language. Grueling training and even worse living conditions prepared him for the worst in every situation. Being taught how to read people made conversation and missions easier. He was taught everything. By the time he was fifteen, he was the most dangerous person in the organization. He had killed many. Some innocent but he had no choice. Their secrecy is their survival. He still regrets it and already sees himself as a monster. At sixteen, he signed up for a top-secret project that gave him certain... advantages. But of course, with great things there are side effects. At seventeen, their enemies found their home base and massacred almost everyone. Him and three others that he knows of got out. By nineteen, he was the most dangerous man in the world, had gotten a PhD in Psychology of all things, and created an identity for himself. By twenty-two, he was the world's most dangerous and notorious assassin. He was a myth until he proved otherwise. He was a popular topic of conversation. At twenty-three, he was approached by a man. A higher-up in the government. A secret branch. He was offered to join their organization and do good. Protect people. SHIELD, they called it. What was his name exactly and why is this important? Because he's the Ghost. And he's just getting started. (I don't own Marvel or its characters. Only my excessive number of OCs.)

While tortured and held captive as a prisoner of war, she became my reason to keep breathing. The force that fueled my will to fight. To survive. When I woke after the rescue to discover the life I thought I was coming home to was but a figment of my imagination, hallucinations brought about by pain, desperation, and isolation... it nearly broke me. Fifteen years since I first lost her, at last, we have a second chance. Holding her in my arms, finally feeling the warmth of her skin as she melts under my touch, is like a dream. She and her two little girls are now as essential to my existence as the air I breathe. However, just as things start falling into place, the universe steps in, threatening to take it all away. I used to think that choosing her cost me everything I'd ever loved, but now I see that in choosing her and her children, I have the chance to reclaim all that I lost. They are my salvation. My true path to redemption. Which is why I'll leave no stone unturned, why I will scorch this world to the ground if that's what it takes to save them. And when I do, I will fight to convince her once and for all they are meant to be mine, just as I was destined to be theirs.
