In the Superverse, 14% of the human populace are born with some kind of superhuman ability. In the cold city of New York a group of supervillains known only as the Misfortunes rule the streets, while on the other side the heroes try their best to keep the peace. But the fire burns blue, and it swallows them whole.
Somewhere else in the land of Prosperia, Princess Nikkel Blackburn is forced to don the mantle of Queen of Cantonia when her parents are assassinated. Up north Alumni Lionhardt, the seventh child of the king and queen of the Frostlands is called to the capital Cantonia, and tasked with getting the princess out before it's too late.
In deep space, a former space explorer recounts the story of her life with her partner, before it all went to shit. But the words of a dying man are unreliable, and she doesn't have much time before they find her.
