Weak Hearted

Maria, or Mary for short, Soto was always doted on. She was born with a defect that made her heart weak, and from day one, she was sheltered, never allowed to watch scary movies, go out on Halloween, or do anything strenuous.

After a surgery her freshman year, Mary finally is letting go of her short leash. She slowly begins to become happy and tries hiking. What she finds is so startling, she can't process it, and is unsure and scared.

Jasper Hale had recently returned to Forks, having lost Alice to a rogue nomad coven, the family returned to set roots down, hoping to give Jasper space to grieve. He returns to school, and returns to his refined, calm and quiet demeanor.

When he comes across Sam's wolf pack, attacking a Vampire, he offers assistance, but comes across something even more startling. In his years with the Cullens only one woman ever looked so much like his old master. And that was her.

Can Maria and Jasper get along, or will the stress and startling nature of Jasper cause Maria to loose her very life?
