Help

Jamie is a nonbinary Black teenager, who has no friends. They spend their summers in the graveyard listening to music and reading, and in school they sit in a tree reading by themselves. One summer, Jamie runs into an otherworldly boy in the graveyard dressed like a Greek, who they eventually befriend. Jamie learns a truth about him which leads to a shattering truth about their religion, or rather, their lack of it. The boy has good morals, a steadfast belief in God, and a kind exterior. But when he falls down to his darkest point, he loses all faith in God and in being happy. The one to pick him up just happens to be Jamie. Jaime works to return their friend to his former happy, easygoing and warm-hearted self. They try to teach him how to be happy and have a positive spin on things, even though they aren't very good at doing that themselves. Can these two keep their friendship when the odd boy has no belief anything can be light again? Read to find out.
