"Tell me, have you ever killed anyone, Nexa?" he asked me, his steps increasing in my direction. I cautiously shook my head, my bottom lip beginning to tremble. He saw this, but went on his way of talking. "I have. It began when I was born; my mother in childbirth, my father from the alcohol poisoning, and now another seven people who have done me wrong. And you know what? I would do it all over again for you."
"Why?" I asked. "I'm nobody special."
He calmly shook his head, a sly grin on his lips as he now stood in front of me. "You're more than special to me." He pushed back some of my hair behind my ear while a tear ran down my cheek. "You really shouldn't cry."
"How can I not?!" I shouted pushing away his hand and stepping back. "You're a monster! You're insane!"
"Do you even know what insane means?!" he shouted back at me. "It means repeating something over and over again, then somehow hoping that in the end the results are different. So answer me this one question: why do I keep repeating myself hoping that you'll have a different reaction to me? That you'll finally love me the way I love you?"
