She was never supposed to affect him the way she did. She was just a girl who tried to survive high school by doing what she loved. She was known, but not too known. She was just a girl.
They weren't supposed to care.
They met in an unlikely circumstance. All it took was a piece of candy. Now, they can never cut the other off fully. It will never be the same.

Bubba "Gumball" Prince was perfectly happy keeping his life hidden. Which, needless to say, meant hiding himself from all of his friends. Or what he wanted to consider his friends. Sure, all he had to do was smile. Like what he was always taught. "Just smile! Even if it's fake darling!" the woman would chirp, staring at him. "Just one fake smile after another! It makes everything better." Marshall Lee, on the other hand, did not believe in such things. It was either real, or you don't feel at all.
