After her fiancee, Aaron, dies in a tragic car accident, Jesse Wilkins has been living in a lonely rut of grief. it's been months since the accident, and she decided to uproot her life and move away with her best friend, Emma, for graduate school. There she meets Liam, who breathes life back into her, and who has a slight resemblance to Aaron. As their friendship turns into romance, their relationship becomes turbulent as secrets about both Jesse's and Liam's pasts are revealed. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
