Lillie has been in love with Dorian since she was eight-the charming, protective best friend of her older brother who always made sure she was never left behind. From backyard adventures to secret late-night talks, Dorian became her safe place, her first crush, her quiet obsession. But everything changed when he left for California to chase his NFL dreams. Three years later, he's back-older, stronger, and somehow even more magnetic. As sparks reignite, so do the complications. He's chasing stadium lights, and she's still figuring out high school hallways. Can their love survive the pull of ambition, expectations... and the fear of growing up too fast? Because loving someone who's ready for the world means you might just get left behind.
