As I reached the heavy oak doors of the church, I closed my eyes and dropped the bouquet onto the blood red carpet. My shaking palms rested on the weathering wood and the deafening silence of the altar pierced my ears - they probably all resented me now. Taking one last breath, I feebly shoved open the doors and descended down the steps.

Even as my loved ones called for me from behind, even as I heard Adam shout my name in plea, I ran. I ran barefoot in a heavy wedding dress all the way home with only one thing in my mind: This was my third engagement. I was insane. I was crazy. I was a wreck. I was a runaway bride.

After Acacia Carter calls off her third engagement - at the altar! - she swears off serious relationships until she finds “the one.” That is, until charming but chronically single Conrad - dubbed Connor - Spencer comes along. Unbeknownst to Acacia, Connor has a drunken bet with his friends during a New Year’s party: he can convince a woman to marry him by Christmas; Acacia is the target of his bet.
As Connor attempts to court Acacia. she is doggedly pursued by her most recent ex-fiancé. But when Connor finds himself falling for Acacia, he comes face to face with the the option of calling off the bet and truly pursuing her.
This heartthrob has only twelve months to make Acacia his but the question is, when the time comes, will Acacia accept his offer? Or will he be her fourth call off?
