Work In Progress is set in a post-apocalyptic version of the United States, and is generally about the new version of reality that the main characters have to face.

Less than five months ago, lights appeared in the sky. Days later the ships started to arrive. They call themselves the Consortium. 100 years into the future, biology has given way to a new humanoid race, the Supernaturals. However, survival for them isn't easy in a world where they are criminalized and oppressed. It's survival of the fittest, or rather, the smartest and most successful. And with a criminal underworld full of illegal Supernatural activity, things are bound to spiral out eventually. (This series has had a rocky start. I've rewritten it hundreds of times over and have finally found something to roll with. His parents try really hard to get him to be a girl and after he got into a fight at school he has to go to detention where he meets a boy called Devin. While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024. Don't worry, I did do research about being trans, but if you are a trans person, and there is anything you feel like isn't right or lacking in this story, feel free to let me know! I'm open for overal feedback so if you have to say anything about this story please let me know. I write these short stories to get better at writing and feedback will only help with that!
