"Do you remember that time we snuck out to watch the meteor shower?" Lily asked, still walking fast.
"Of course," Calvin replied, the memory bringing a smile to his face. "The Perseids, the summer after I moved into town," he said, trying to keep up with her.
On a normal day, the fact that he remembered so quickly would have flattered Lily, but this was not a normal day.
"Do you remember me telling you about the old bedtime stories my dad used to come up with?" Lily asked, clearly worked up.
"You mean the angel ones?" Calvin replied, slowly recalling the story she had told that night. "What was his name? Chuck? Frank-"
Lily cut him off with a slight shake of her head, "It was Hank." She stopped walking so suddenly that Calvin almost ran right over her.
She turned around, taking a deep breath.
"Calvin, what if it was real?"
