The Endless Road to Everything

I closed my eyes to find myself in a dark room, with only a flicker of light coming out of the torch in my hand. The flames warmed my hands and face, but seemed to be dying away. I ran down the dark corridor, only to find myself to a door. I pushed on the wooden door, to reveal that it was locked up from behind. I looked down at my hand, and there was the key, sitting there. The reflection of the torch in my other hand had lit up the key. I raised the key up to the lock, and turned the key. Once, twice, click. My mind raced, thinking of what was beyond the door. I turned the handle and a sudden breeze came to me, followed by a blinding light. "Maddie! Are you listening?" I opened my eyes to reveal a laughing class around me. My cheeks turned rosy pink, and I ran out of the classroom in a flash.
