Into The Trenches: A World War I Journal [2019]
It is 1914, and Henry Anderson is watching the world descend into war. Like many young men at the time, he is fascinated by the idea of warfare and glory. Henry enlists in the military against his parents' wishes and throws himself into the life of a British soldier in Flanders. But it is far from what he expects: Henry's fantasies of righteous battle fade into the grim reality of gruesome death and shell-shock. He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront. I wrote this for a history project while studying WWI and got way too involved in it, so here you are. WARNINGS: gun/bomb/gas-related violence, war descriptions, graphic death, suicide attempt. I will mark specific chapters with warnings and give summaries of those chapters on the following one. "No you don't, you adore me" he chuckles "Keep dreaming boy" I wanted him to let go of me, not because I didn't like it but because his touch, was driving me insane. It felt great and I can't afford to fall for him, I mean look at him who wouldn't fall for that handsome face and crazy person but that was problem. I'm not his type. He turned me around and this time I was facing him, our eyes met and I couldn't deny it, it felt great to be in his arms. His eyes lowered and fell on my lips. Before I could even say my name, he kisses me. My eyes widened in shocked but I gave in and wrapped my arms around his neck, closing my eyes. God damn!his lips are soft. It was slow and gentle, his hands moved to my face as he increased the pace. My hands moved to his soft black hair. God! I've always wanted to touch it I let out a moan and he slipped his tongue in making the kiss hotter. It was the best feeling on earth. We both pulled away at the same time, panting. Damon and Scarlet, two different people brought together by fate but separated by life. Will they find each other again and just live with the memories of what that had??Complete

Have you ever seen your life flash before your eyes? Seen all the good memories with you and your friends and loved ones just pass in a few split seconds before the moment comes where you know you'll die? Where you determine if it's going to be a quick or slow and painful death? Well then, same. I risk my life on a daily bases saving others, strangers, kids, families, anyone my team and I can help ranging from terrorist attacks to bombs to pretty much anything. The training that I received a few years ago allows me to do that, it allows me to be the best person that I can be, if I could go back to the day I joined the military I wouldn't change a single thing; the only thing I would've changed in my journey is to have looked after her better.
