Scarlet is an ordinary girl. Her mom died when she was 11. Sure she has her problems. Like any other teenager. Her dad's evil girlfriend Margo, or her perfect goody-two shoes brother for instance. She never thought in a million years her biggest problem would be saving the world. This unimaginable scenario becomes a very scary reality when she reaches her 15 birthday. Caelum is an abnormally smart boy that always has his head in a book. His dad died when he was 10, and he ran away from home when he was 14. When he and Scarlet meet he finally has someone to share his powers with. He also finally finds someone who understands. Shes a girl. He's a boy. She hates school. School is his life. She has a boyfriend. He can't even get his head out of a book to notice girls. They hardly ever talk to each other. They are polar opposites, merely another face in the hall, but there is one thing they discover they have in common. Magic. Will they be able to put their differences aside to help each other? Will they learn to use and control their powers? Will they use their powers for good, or evil? Will they find love along the way? This is the story of a girl named Scarlet and a boy named Caelum.
