Legolas stood a small distance from, looking down at his feet, before looking up at her with sadness in his eyes and saying, "I must go north to the Dunedain. There is someone there my father insists that I meet."
Evanya closed her eyes, trying not to let him see the sadness she felt at his words. She had to accompany young Bilbo back to the Shire then return to Rivendell, but she longed to not be parted from Legolas. Rather than saying anything she was feeling, she nodded before looking at him and saying, "I hope we meet again Legolas, son of Thranduil."
He held his hand over his heart, so she returned the gesture, then he said, "I hope we do as well Evanya, daughter of Elrond."

The Ranger And The Prince.
Sapphire is an orphan elleth whom was brought up by dwarves in the Mines of Moria. Now she wanders the wilderness of Middle-Earth as one of the most skilled rangers ever known. With her skill with both bow and blade as well as the axe and daggers, she is sought out by Lord Elrond to attend a meeting of all the great races in Rivendell. There she meets Aragon, an old friend or hers who is a fellow ranger and she also makes the acquaintance of a dwarf, an elven prince, four hobbits, a wizard and two men. Along with her trusty wolf companion, Nasha, and her horse, StarLight, Sapphire is swept up in a quest to save Middle-Earth. She forges long lasting friendships with those around her and finds herself getting close to the elven prince even though they start as rivals. This is a Legolas love story but if any of you have read my other fan fictions then you know I love character development and so this is likely to take a long time to get started. Also, I know there are like a billion fan fictions with the same plot, that being a female elf who is part of the fellowship and ends up falling in love with Legolas. I know every fan fic is basically that plot repeated over and over again but I just said, 'what the hell, if you can't beat them, join them' so I made this.Terminé

You two quickly become friends as your feelings grow you try to hide them as you are worried he doesn't feel the same way.
