Serenity had always had a knack for helping others, even though she wasn't helped much herself. Happy at Hyperion as a medic,  Serenity found a channel for all of her unrequited love. But she can't ignore that empty, and hungry calling of adventure and change...

The stories of Serenity and Jack cross at a convenient time for two people who were tired of waiting, and tired of being stepped on. 

The little guy can only take so much before he is turned into a monster.
