The whole world has had their memory wiped of all music. Some people remember what music is yet, they don't have the ability to sing or press a series of piano keys to make a tune. At least, that's the Empire hopes. Cres was hidden away by her very talented mother when the Empire came to her town. She grew up with the ability to play music but she can't play for anyone.
