When Natsu killed his first dragon he then discovered that he could steel their magic gaining more magic. When Acnologia saw this he was amused and impressed by the boy and together they went out to slay Dragons. Over the year Acnologia grew attached to the Natsu like his own son, he enjoyed the Boy. But one day Acnologia decides to part with Natsu so the boy could go on his own adventures and make friends and mates as Natsu is a special Dragon with unlimited magic at his disposal. Acnologia gave him three gifts a scarf made out of his scales, A Cloak just like his, and Katana made from an iron Dragon claw. It's Sharpness could cut a mountain in half with just a swing.
