When the clock struck midnight, Cinderella's spell didn't wear off . . . she was executed by her prince.

* * *

As soon as Scarlet turned eighteen she was expected to take a bigger part in the family business of crime. That was before she broke into Duchess Ella's mansion to steal her crystal slippers and is caught by Prince Daniel himself. Lucky for Scarlet he think she is Lady Ella's maid, not a famous thief. Scarlet is sure she's in love with the prince and she thinks he feels the same way. But it would never work out. Not when the only reason she's attending his ball is to steal the crown jewels. Not when he'd have to execute her if he knew who she really was.

It is enforced of each noble family to send one of their daughters to attend the ball. After her father's death, Elle became a maid to her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. But when word of the upcoming ball reaches the ears of Clandestine family, Lady Clandestine forms a plan that will keep her daughters out of the clutches of the vampire king: send Elle in their place, disguised as a noble. What are the chances that the vampire king will choose her? And if he does, he will never know she is but a common maid. But, if he finds out...the punishment will be deadly.
