They say love works in mysterious ways. They say love could come as anything, a broken, lost soul, or a youthful, free-spirited soul. Ellie Mack wasn't looking for love. In fact, that was the last thing on her mind. Her main focus was to get through college and focus on a career. So imagine the things going through her mind when she meets Marcus, the son of San Francisco's best lawyer. She knew she hated him the moment she met him. Or so she thought.. Now Ellie's pulled into the world of love, heartbreak, and drama. Though her first instinct was to stay away, something kept bringing her back. It doesn't help that her haunted past keeps popping up after seven years. Maybe love really does work in mysterious ways. [There WILL be mistakes. This story is unedited. Enjoy :)

They were only thirteen. Just kids, right? But that summer, everything changed. Katie was gone. And only two people knew what really happened - Jamie Miller, and Y/N, the quiet girl who always sat behind him in homeroom. Jamie wasn't like the other boys. There was something broken in him, something sad and sharp, like a song that never ends. Y/N saw it. She understood him. She loved him - even before everything went wrong. When Katie ends up dead at the bottom of the quarry, the town blames bad luck. But Y/N knows the truth. She was there. She helped cover it up. Not because she had to... but because she couldn't bear to lose Jamie. Now the guilt is catching up, secrets are unraveling, and the line between love and fear is getting harder to see. This isn't just a story about first crushes. It's about what you're willing to do for someone... Even when it destroys you.
