Ever since her dad mysteriously abandoned her family, life on the Clifton Estate hasn't been all that exciting for 16-year-old Marla True. Her Mum constantly works to make ends meet, which means Marla has to put up with gossipy old Bev keeping an eye on her and noisy little half-sister Ribbon. If that wasn't bad enough, her exam results are in... and they aren't good. But at least she has her friends. Asher, the responsible and strong boy who has known her all her life and Ed, the orphaned rebel who loves to stir up trouble. Then there's her, Marla, stubborn, fiery and just plain lost. Life on the estate is same-old same-old, until the senile World War Two veteran, Mr. Pelham, starts freaking Marla out with his staring and rambling, cryptic messages. Is he trying to warn her? Or hurt her? When the bored trio decide to teach the creepy old man it's rude to scare young girls, they learn far too late just how crucial it is to respect your elders. For his daughter, Bridget, has a power unlike anything they've ever seen before and she uses her deadly craft to send them to a place that will teach them the lesson of their lifetime. Bridget has sent them back in time, all the way to World War Two, throwing them into a secret fight for the survival of all magical folk in the world. Marla soon learns what it really means to be a True, and the power her absent father has kept from her all her life... Marla, Ed and Asher are thrown into a world they and their generation have no comprehension of, a world where love is a relic of a life left behind and your only duty is sacrificing all that you have. These three friends are about to learn about a side of World War Two that never made the history books. ***I can't take credit for the artwork, it's called A BREAK IN REALITY and it's by the AMAZINGLY talented Xenobyte on deviantart. In a world where fate is written in the stars, Ezryn believes he is doomed to follow the same tragic path-no matter how far he runs. Solivian, a young man whose quiet determination stirs something in Ezryn, refuses to let him fall into isolation. But as their bond grows, Ezryn's past becomes a weight too heavy to ignore, pulling him into dangerous territory. Solivian's unwavering support offers a glimpse of hope, but the truth of who Ezryn is-and what he's capable of-remains elusive. Lirael, Ezryn's long-time best friend, knows there's more to him than he lets on. Her relentless curiosity forces Ezryn to confront pieces of his past he'd rather forget, but the deeper she digs, the more he fears she'll uncover something neither of them can handle. What if the truth is more than either of them can survive? As the shadows of his past draw nearer, Ezryn is faced with an impossible choice: will he succumb to the same fate he's been running from, or will he find a way to break free? The answers may not be what he expects-and not everyone is who they appear to be. In Shadows of Fate, the lines between destiny and choice blur as Ezryn fights against a past he can't escape and a future he can't predict. ...He was banished as a child... The princess's illegitimate first born was sent to another realm, but when a vicious attack wiped out most of the royal family, it left the misplaced child as the sole heir to a powerful bloodline, and armies were dispatched to bring him back. ...She was determined to find him herself... A victim of the attack herself and having grown up in the castle, Kasey was determined to repay the king's debts by bringing the sole heir to the royal bloodline home herself after years of watching the armies fail. She was one of the finest fighters in the realm, and she would manage to do what no other had before--locate the royal heir. ...He was just trying to live in peace... Having grown up with the tons speculation and scorn, Joshua had little patience for drama and even less desire to be within it, but when a flighty tempestuous woman started appearing wherever he turned and hounding his waking hours, he found himself torn between fascination and annoyance. It didn't matter to him what bloody mission she was on, as long as she would just leave him alone... © Copyright Notice © Sara Rosa 2025. All rights reserved. This is an original work of fiction.
