Amara Bianchi has lived in Gotham her whole life, and she hates it. Fortunately her dream career as helping people by being a Nurse keeps her sane, even if she also has to work as a waitress to help pay the bills and help her family. Overall she lives a pretty normal life.
But when one of the members of the infamous bat-clan falls on her fire escape one night half-dead...well that whole 'normal' thing is going to change pretty damn fast.
Rated M for language, substance abuse, bloody/gory themes & possible sexual themes in later chapters

"Hazel." "What?" "My name." I swallowed hesitantly, afraid to shatter the silence between us anymore than I already had, "It's Hazel." The silence of the night made it seem as if someone breathing too loud could make the silence shatter into a million pieces. My voice was no exception, and I was terrified that if I spoke to loud, even one word, the it would shatter, along with everything in the room.
