Becoming a musketeer was a generational tradition in the Beaudoux family.

Ever since she was young, Katherine Beaudoux had always wanted to be a musketeer just like her brothers and father, despite being the only girl in her family's history. She dreamed of serving and protecting the royal family and making her own family proud. What helped flourish her dream was her supportive older brothers, Roderick and Gallo, along with her parents.

When she finally gets a chance to follow her dream, it all comes crashing down and the bitter taste of reality dampens her mood. Living in a world where being a woman meant being married at a young age, cooking, cleaning, and having children, gave little support for her dream. Ridiculed, mocked, and bullied because of that dream, she never allowed it to affect her.

She was going to prove them wrong. She wasn't going to leave empty-handed nor with her tail between her legs. All she needed to do was perform a brave and noble act showing she was just as worthy to protect the royal family as any man was.

Becoming a maid at the palace opened up a whole world of opportunities to prove her worth, with some unlikely friends she made along the way. She would become a musketeer and pave the way for women and girls of all ages to become more than a housewife.
