I am visible, but I am not seen. I walk by them in the halls, I sit next to them in class, I eat lunch across from them, and yet they see right through me. I fake a smile, but it always fades. They do not see it. They do not see me. I am invisible. Kate has been invisible to everyone for as long as she would like to remember. They do not notice her, they do not talk to her. She wonders what her life would be like if she was popular. She wonders if anyone would miss her if she died. Then she meets Derek, and she wonders if he will be the one to break the walls she's spent years buildings. Will he?

My superpower is invisibility. Not by choice. It's the only way I know how to be. Until the cute guy on the bus shows me how to fly, but there's a catch. And it has nothing to do with me being the one who can see him. But sometimes falling feels a lot like flying. And I don't know if I'm ready for either. Prompt 20: You finally build enough courage to talk to that cute someone you see every day on the bus. Their face turns dark as they respond "You shouldn't be able to see me."
