"Annabeth! Wait, please come back!"

Annabeth turned around with little droplets of tears in her eyes and a sad smile painted on her sun-kissed features. The rain poured especially hard tonight of all nights. We were drenched.

"You chose this life. It's okay Percy, go get your happy ending. But I will never get mine.. not if I'm here. I can't keep fighting all these wars for the gods just to have the same monsters reoccur and then watch everyone I love die, or worse! Have one of us almost die, and yet you still expect me to be okay at the same time. You were my first love, and I will always love you, but I can't stay here anymore. Goodbye Percy..."

Her voice trailed off as she gazed into my once sparking green eyes. One last time she pressed her lips softly onto mine. The kiss was salted with the feeling of deep sadness, as if it was the last time we'd ever meet.

Annabeth then pulled away after a while and just looked at me wistfully, before disappearing into the stormy New York City night.
