Elaina had her whole life planned out ahead of her. Her life was one big canvas that had already been painted in every corner. It never truly had any surprises, and that's just the way she liked it.

Elaina and her family decide to go to the beach for summer vacation and stay with a family friend. Elaina figured it was just going to be a normal beach trip just like any other. However, when tragedy strikes and a member of the family is lost, Elaina's life is in for a complete turn upside down. Depression sinks in on Elaina's life and she becomes a completely different person.

Her father decides they should still go to the beach, despite Elaina's complaints. Nothing could be more wrong in Elaina's life so it seemed. That is, until she meets Evan and he helps her realize that maybe what she had planned out for her, really wasn't what she wanted at all.
