Kaya never understood death. The boy in the lake said he drowned, but then how come she can still talk to him? She talks to Francis quite often, despite his ghostly appearance. She never understood death because she can see ghosts. They're drawn to her. Simon always heard voices. not because he was insane, but because he could read minds. Charlie and Xavier could summon demons and angels. They can't control them, though. The rest of the family is wacky and unpridictable, giving the Vansloten family a very unique reputation.

Just like their parents, they also continued to face obstacles of their own over the years, as with every passing year, their powers grew stronger as they trained how to use them. Though they were not the only ones. Lucifer was getting closer; they were getting closer. Kira could feel it, and so could Alice and Tara. It's almost like that strange feeling where a person feels as if someone is standing behind them, but when they turn around, no one is there. The intensity of those feelings crept closer and stronger with each passing year. It was only a matter of time before Hell's gates would open, and once more, Lucifer would come for Kira, as well as everyone and everything she loved, including Tara, Alice, and anyone standing in his way.
