Grayson held my face tightly yet gently, "Lyla," he repeated, but I didn't hear him over the ringing in my ears. His voice sounded distant, like he was calling to me from underwater. "Lyla, you have to answer me. He's going to take you away from me if you don't answer my question." He said. I looked at him. Not because of what he said, but his tone. It was so desperate, it almost made me want to cry. He was shaking, tears dotted his eyes. I glanced down at his tattoo. The proof that I will never be the only girl that he loves.
"Lyla," he heaved. I stared into his eyes, unsure of what I was feeling. Or if I was feeling at all. After all we've been through. The countless times he's told me he loves me, and how I returned his affection, if there was any at all. I'm starting to question it. All of it. Felix was right. Divania was right. They were all right. I should just have kept my heart guarded. I shouldn't have let him in.
I shouldn't have followed the strings.
"Lyla," he repeated, "Do you love me?"

~Sequel of 'Cloud City'~

Lyla has everything she's ever wanted. She has the man of her dreams, she has friends that have her back, and her parents are back from their overseas trip. But just as things were going well, they began to crumple beneath her. A mysterious boy visits her at night. He revealed to her Grayson's true past, and the real reason why Divania is leaving. Does she trust the man she claims to love, or does she fall blind to his past, and give herself up to the boy who says he's protecting her?

He smirked. I stood my ground. But I could still feel my cheeks take up a slight pink. It also made me think if Sam was my only mysterious problem. But I knew better. ~ They're arch-enemies. 200 parts Complete Mature
In the beginning... he was like a storm: violent, dangerous, and perfectly capable of destroying everything in his path. He'd gotten his hands on everything needed to pin me in his trap. My home... my belongings... my life -- he could have taken any of them at any time, and I wouldn't have been allowed to so much as let out a single protest. In the end, though, what he ended up wanting more than anything else in the world was something I swore up and down I wouldn't ever give him. Me. 🌺👑💛👑🌺 Aerin Vanderhill is uncertain of who he is on the inside and what he really wants out of life. For seventy-five years, he's lived very quietly in a small but futuristic American town, sleeping during the day and occasionally meandering around at night, basically just wondering at his own depressing existence. His family is long dead and everyone he once loved is gone, so for him, all that's left is the silence of being alone... of mimicking life because its there and he has it. Its boring, but what's an awkward, socially inept vampire who's only true form of human contact comes through playing online video games supposed to do? Nothing. That's right, nothing. Because doing something would make him spiral. That's why he sticks to his routine, no matter how pointless it feels to him. Unfortunately, his simple way of living comes to an immediate end when a dangerous, beast-like man with strange powers and even stranger origins comes gallivanting into town, hunting for the so-called "leech" who lulls his victims to sleep before preying on them. [COMPLETED] As I was beginning to relax, a new terror coursed through my body at his next word, "Strip." "Ex-excuse me?" I blurted out. I wasn't getting undressed in front of him, I barely knew him. He must have been trying to gain something from me and I doubted my fear and embarrassment was what he wanted. Adrenous didn't say anything as he drew his hands up my back and halted at the laces of my dress. I felt him tug at one of the nots and I instantly pulled away and turned to face him, no longer caring that his manhood was out for all to see. Just like that part of him, he too was a dick. "I'm not getting undressed in front of you!" I yelled at him. "Your mine, Alivia," My name passed his lips easily and hearing him say it did things to me which I didn't want to admit. Instead I glared at him, he said I was his as if I was some kind of possession that he could do with as he pleased. He added, "Let me take care of you." I didn't know what he meant by that, all I knew was that I had no intention of doing as he had asked. ✨🌕✨ BOOK ONE OF THE KING SERIES ⚠️ WARNING: this book is mature and should only be read if you are 18+.
