An unfortunate accident early into the Marauders' sixth year at Hogwarts leaves the energetic and Quidditch-obsessed James Potter unable to walk.
Without a cure in sight, James is given a Muggle contraption called a 'wheelchair'.
The wizarding world, however, is quite discriminatory towards those with disabilities, considering them to be Muggle-esque.
So, popular, confident, Quidditch Star James Potter finds himself more than a little lost, stripped of all three of those titles, and his image rapidly falls.
But perhaps that was exactly what Lily Evans needed to see that he wasn't nearly so bad as he'd chalked himself up to be.
