Everyone in Ivywood is born with tattoos on their wrists. These tattoos supposedly match the tattoos of their soulmate.
This doesn't always work for everyone. The people in this story aren't exactly your typical "love story" types. Almost none of them are interested in finding their soulmates. But, of course, it's forced upon them. Just like everything else in this world.
