High School isn’t everything they say it is. I really don’t know how to put it into words. It’s just like the beginning of life I guess. As a teenage girl you imagine your top best friend and you making your way through High School together. Going on dates with tons of boys, going to homecoming with the star football player. All the normal teenage American girls dream right? I had that plan from the very start my best friend I were going to be unstoppable. But what do you do when you are moved halfway across the country to a town you didn’t even know existed, away from all your friends and family? Just when you think things can’t get any better life throws a broken bridge in your way and yell at you “It’s not over yet!” Everyone survives this hell hole they call high school differently. Mines just a little bit different. Just when you think everything is done, it’s not over yet. My name is Joanne Smith the average American girl. This is my story.

Complete! "You know I really like you, right?" He was definitely drunk. "You do?" I asked. My voice was supposed to be teasing, but I think it came off as a bit startled. He laughed, "Yeah, why else would I trust you with all my secrets?" -- Betty was many things; a romantic, a fashion designer, a bit more jealous than the average girl, great with a camera, a helpful daughter and a good friend. But she was best known for being nice. And usually, the boy did not want the 'nice' girl. But this summer she was going to prove to Mike, her crush since FOREVER, that nice was enough. She was going to have an amazing summer, a perfect Junior year, and finally have her first kiss. It was a foolproof plan. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
