This is a heartfelt poem written from the perspective of someone's ex-lover, reminiscing about their past relationship. The poem takes the reader through the various stages of their relationship, from their initial meeting to the confession of their love for one another, and then to the eventual breakup. The speaker expresses regret over the way things ended, and laments the fact that they let their insecurities get in the way of their love.

Despite the pain of the breakup, the speaker still holds fond memories of their time together, and acknowledges that even though they are now strangers, the love they once shared will always have a place in their heart. The poem captures the bittersweet nature of lost love and the hope that someday they may find a way to heal their pain and reconnect once again.
