The scariest people are the ones who have forgotten the meaning of fear and have lost the feeling of guilt. It's hard to fear a guilty conscience when neither of those phrases make you bat an eyelash. Lexi Madison was Richmond, Virginia's supposed to be prodigy. She came from one of the wealthiest families in all of Virginia. She was a beauty, homecoming nominee three years in a row, and she was the valedictorian to her very prestigious highschool. Too bad she never showed up to graduation. Four years later, now twenty two, Lexi Madison hasn't stepped foot in her hellish hometown since she ran away. She can't seem to out run Miles Johnson, her darling brother's best friend, who shows up whenever she's in desperate need of bail money. One phone call and somehow she's on her way back to the town she swore she'd never go back to, to a best friend she's let down, a beautiful older brother who she's still inferior to- despite the many years, judgemental parents, and gossipy neighbors. But as she's gone faster then she had been planning, when her criminal ties decided to intervene. And stubborn Miles has no intention of letting her have all the fun. Lexi not only has to face the demons in all her nightmares but she's also taking the blunt, sarcastic boy - man- who had broke her teenage heart.
