Josophine Hudson never had a good life. Her parents were poor, abusive, and they were alcohol addicts. Finally, after an evening of listening to her parent's yelling and stepping over broken glass in their apartment, Josophine was done. She packed her backpack and left. But Josophine knew that she had to get away from there, because even though her parents were hateful and abusive toward her, they wanted her near them. So she hopped on a bus. Away from her parents. Away from her old life. Away from her problems. Right? No. Hours after leaving her home, her phone broke into a horrible beeping noise. An Amber Alert. And it was for Josophine. Crap. She hadn't been kidnapped, but her parents were on to her, and so were the police. So, Josophine did the only thing she could think of. Run.

He grabbed a bottle of some sort and smiled. "Nighty night." He whispered. He sprayed the substance all over me until I blacked out. -- 16 year old Cathy moves from a small Rhode Island town to the big Austin, Texas.
