Savannah Rose just wanted to be accepted, to fit in. When she turned fifteen, her father and mother died in a car wreck. Forced to move, Savannah leaves her perfect life, and everything she had ever known behind, to move in with her aunt. At her new school, everyone hates her, more like envies her. After a while, she became known as the sweater girl, because she always wore sweaters, even in hundred degree weather, and no one knew why. One day, she meets a boy named James. They become best friends. James has gone through some of the same things, and helps Savannah pull herself through it. Then, over winter break, James leaves her. He has to visit his family in London. Without James there, Savannah is nothing. She doesn’t know what to do, and the bullying worsens. Because of bullying, Savannah starts cutting herself again. She had done it before, ever since her parents had left her. Every night, she’d lock herself in the bathroom, and she would cut until she was eased. Her wrist was her canvas, and her razor was the paintbrush. Then James shows up after the end of winter break, and Savannah stops cutting. He didn’t suspect anything…
A year passes, and Savannah and James grow closer and closer. Soon enough, they were together. Summer approaches, and problems rise. Savannah would always wears a sweater to cover up her scars, every day no matter how hot it was. James begins to suspect something, and thinks she is weird, but he likes her for that…
One day James had waited long enough. “Why do you always wear sweaters? It’s a hundred degrees today Savv.” He asked her.
Savannah bit her lip, knowing he knew that something was up. “Because… I… I’m… Um... It's cold.” She said, turning away. That was just a cover up… As long as Savannah wore a sweater, she felt as if she were safe, and her secrets were locked away.Hak Cipta Dilindungi Undang-Undang
