As the First Wizarding War reached its peak Voldemort came to the conclusion that he would need an heir. He impregnated a young witch and held her captive until she gave him a child, at which point he killed her. He named the child Xoaie and crowned her Heir to the Darkness. You can imagine that once the Order of the Phoenix caught wind of this they knew they had to take action. Dumbledore led the team that was deciding what to do about the, at this point, unborn heir. He was losing faith that they would be able to do anything to save the child when James Potter came to him and gave news of his wife's pregnancy. Dumbledore got an idea. He pitched it to the couple. They were hesitant but in the end accepted the mission. They were to tell everyone that Lily was pregnant with twins and the night that their son was born Dumbledore delivered the Heir to the Darkness to Godric's Hollow. Dumbledore had kidnapped the child himself, and when he did he obliviated Voldemort of all memories of his child and his plan for her. Dumbledore cast a spell over all of the Death Eaters obliviating them as well. And so, there was no one on Earth besides Dumbledore, the Order, and the Potter's that knew the true identity of the baby.

It was common knowledge throughout the wizarding world: the Gaunt's were the last people alive who could claim direct lineage from Salazar Slytherin, and also, they were quite mad. Upon the deaths of Morfin and Merope Gaunt, Voldemort was supposed to be the last remaining Heir of Slytherin. Nobody questioned it, not even himself. But unbeknownst to everyone, there was another bloodline; the Stone's. If Medusa Ivy Stone is used to one thing, it's secrets. At first, it was only her pureblood father forbidding her from telling anyone that she's half-siren, or that she can speak to snakes. That she could manage. But soon the secrets are piling up around her on every side, she finds herself struggling more and more to bear their burden. When people start being petrified in her second year at Hogwarts, and whispers fill the halls of the Heir of Slytherin, Ivy doesn't dwell on it, more concerned for her friends than with gossip. That is until her classmates start to suspect Harry Potter when he reveals he is a Parslemouth. As the pieces fall into place in Ivy's mind, she discovers that she suddenly has a new secret to keep: she is a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin. One thing is clear: this secret is finally one too many, but not even Ivy knows what the consequences of the damn bursting will be. Will she wash away everything and everyone she's grown to love in the flood? Or will she finally be free to be herself without judgment. J.K.
